Implementing recovery into your volleyball routine can enhance your performance, reduce injury risk, and promote overall well-being. I for one should have taken recovery seriously back when I was younger. I thought I could do anything because I had an unstoppable spirit and it caught up with me. Today I will discuss some of the tools I use for recovery.
Massage Gun
I love having my massage gun charged and ready to go before and after practices and matches. I use it to relieve soreness after a heavy gym workout, and to remove tightness from my muscles after sitting on a bus for 20 hours. To warm up before practice. It's easy to use and rechargeable, so you can recover faster. It's also very quiet, so I can take it anywhere. Plus, it's very affordable, making it the ideal choice for anyone who wants to enjoy massage gun benefits.

Massage Ball
Before I had a massage gun I used a massage ball (a lacrosse ball). I don't use it as much as before. However, it gets into those difficult to reach knots in my shoulder (trigger points) and neck I can't get to with my massage gun. My shoulders had reduced range of motion due to those trigger points. As a result by rolling on these trigger points, knots were broken up and pain was relieved and range of motion restored. A massage ball is an excellent tool to recover muscles and provide pain relief.

Foam Roller
Once you start foam rolling you will ask yourself how you performed without it. Foam rolling regularly before and after a workout, practice or game will prepare the muscles for the workout ahead and post workout recovery. As the massage ball penetrates those hard to reach places, the foam roller targets my leg and back muscles. Foam rolling increases range of motion, reduces soreness, and improves flexibility. It can also prevent injury and improve overall performance.

Tens Unit
One of these is probably owned by every professional volleyball player. They come preprogrammed and are easy to use.Tens units are a very effective tool to increase circulation and reduce inflammation. They are also used to reduce pain and stiffness in muscles. Tens units can be used before and after exercise to reduce soreness and improve recovery.

Recovery Boots
Recovery boots are worth the investment. They make your legs feel really good after intense practice, workouts or games. They are designed to compress and massage the affected area. They are typically worn after exercise to relax and soothe sore muscles and reduce swelling. They stimulate the body's natural healing process, which helps the body repair damaged muscles faster. It helps you recover from exercise and perform better. As a result, recovery boots are an important tool for any athlete striving for optimal performance.

Overall, these tools can be an invaluable asset to volleyball players seeking to improve their performance and prevent injuries.
