It's December and that means Christmas markets! Christmas markets are a festive tradition in Europe.

They typically feature stalls selling handmade gifts, traditional foods and drinks, and merry music. It's an awesome way to get into the holiday spirit! I have been to many European Christmas markets and enjoy them all. This time I visited 2 Christmas markets in Romania and am sharing details of my trip.

The first Christmas market I came to was in Cluj. Cluj is a big city so why not experience the city Christmas market? but This time around, I didn't want to make it to a Christmas market in Cluj. However, having a teammate who loves adventure convinced me to do so and I am so glad I went with her. We drove an hour and a half to get there. 5 minutes after finding parking the rain began to fall. With it already being -2 degrees that night it got colder. Despite the cold temperatures and rain, we braved the elements and explored the Christmas market. A few photos were taken, some food was consumed, and chimmy cake was eaten. Head to our hotel for the night.
The next day we planned to explore more of the city however the car we came in was electric and we spent 3 hours looking for a charging station. We were so tired and hungry after that experience of getting the car charged that we just wanted to rest and eat. We found a restaurant called Toulouse and the food was amazing and the hot chocolate was delicious. After we ate, we headed back to the Christmas market to get some souvenirs and hot wine and returned to Targu Mures. Overall we had an enjoyable time. It was an experience I will never forget.
For the second Christmas market, the team girls said they were heading to the Christmas Market in our town after practice. We all agreed to meet there. When we arrived we browsed through the stalls, looking at the various Christmas decorations.
Then headed straight for the food stalls at the back because we were hungry. We had a variety of food to choose from, from hot wine to traditional Hungarian fried bread with cheese and sour cream. The talk of the night was how delicious the hot wine was. My teammate said it was better than Cluj.
We talked and laughed while enjoying snacks and taking in the beauty of Christmas lights. After eating, we took photos near the Christmas tree and headed home, feeling content and happy.

It was an enjoyable way to bond and celebrate Christmas.
