Left handed People Do Everything better.

When I was a girl growing up in Trinidad, I heard so many jokes about being left-handed, that we were a special kind of people and couldn't do anything right (rolls eyes).

I faced another set of challenges when I joined the national team when everyone was a right-handed attacker. Because I was left-handed, I had to hit a different set of balls.

In those days I didn't have someone left-handed to copy or emulate, and instead of beating myself up about it I set a goal not to hit a different ball from everyone else but the same ball every right-handed hitter was hitting and do it better than they can.

I didn't know how huge a goal that was back then. It required hard work, determination, persistence and perseverance. I brought my own style to the game, with a style of hitting sharp angles that worked for me. It took a few years of dedicated work, but eventually, I developed into one of the best left-handed hitters in the game. It was a proud moment for me and my family.

I have received countless awards and trophies for best opposites, best spikers, best scorers and MVPs. I am grateful for how far I have come and all I have achieved. I will keep striving to be the most effective I can be. I'm proud of what I have accomplished and learned along the way. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had. In the future, I hope to continue using my experience and skills to help volleyball players. I'm grateful to everyone who has supported me over the years and look forward to more success in the future.

My view is that left-handed people can't do everything right, but they can do it better!
